About Kushtrim Arifi

Kushtrim Arifi, Product Designer and Developer, in a black-and-white portrait

I’m Kushtrim, a product designer based in Kosovo. I design websites and digital products, with a focus on usability and interaction design. I aim to reduce cognitive load through clear navigation, a strong visual hierarchy, and consistent interactions, helping people find what they need and understand what to do next.

I started in graphic design and branding in 2012. Over time, my work grew into UX/UI and product design. Since 2021, I’ve worked almost exclusively with Swiss companies, alongside occasional projects in Kosovo.

After completing two full-stack bootcamps, I also began working as a developer. I work mainly on the front end, and also handle back-end development. I enjoy being able to build what I design and work through the details as it takes shape.

I also have a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. Studying people’s behaviour has shaped how I approach user research and usability testing. I pay attention to where someone hesitates, what they expect to happen, and what makes a task confusing. Those observations help me question my assumptions and refine the design.

Recently, I’ve been working on an AI mental health support tool with a clinical team—a project that draws on my experience in design, development, and psychology.

AI

I use AI to amplify my own thinking, not to replace it. I don’t use its speed to cut corners. I use it as a tool: to explore more directions early, to question my assumptions, and to spend the time it saves on the details that decide whether a product feels right. The judgement of what to build, what to leave out and why stays mine.

  1. 2024 — Present

    Senior Product Designer & Developer

    MONUN AG — Switzerland

    • Designed and developed a custom CRM, covering UX/UI, account management, permissions, admin dashboards, invoicing, recurring billing, Stripe payments and audit logs.
    • Designed the UX/UI and developed 20+ corporate websites and campaigns, using Next.js, React, Tailwind CSS and custom WordPress themes in PHP.
    • Created wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes and Figma UI kits to define information architecture, content hierarchy, navigation and interaction patterns.
    • Designed and developed websites with admin dashboards for real estate and other businesses, enabling clients to manage projects and update website content independently.
    • Managed quality assurance, accessibility checks and launches, and set up continuous deployment that reduced deployment time by 40%.

    • Designed 50+ responsive websites in Figma and delivered them through WordPress and Elementor.
    • Conducted user research and usability testing, using findings to refine navigation, layouts and interactions.
    • Refined WooCommerce experiences across checkout and product management.
    • Developed front-end features using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React to support site functionality and interactions.
    • Designed social media posts and promotional graphics, maintaining consistent typography, imagery and brand identity across client content.

    • Designed and launched 30+ responsive WordPress websites, covering UX/UI design, page structure, visual design and implementation.
